Who are we and how did we start?

Maxxd Marketing  started trading in October 2006, established by Oliver Mooney and David Hartshorne. We had been working on setting the business up since May 2004 and were waiting for the right moment where we could afford to leave our full time jobs and fulfil our long term dreams.

We have both had an interest in modified and performance cars since we were 17 years old and initially formed a car enthusiast’s club. From this we steamed into the modified cars scene and soon found ourselves spending thousands of pounds on our cars and attending car shows up and down the UK. It wasn’t until we both reached about 20 years old that our expensive hobby started forming into random business ideas. We had always been keen internet users from a young age and it wasn’t until we started using the internet to find the parts we needed that the idea for a new website came about.

In December 2004, the domain names; MaxxDirectory.com and MaxxDirectory.co.uk were purchased and our idea began to take form, a directory full of relative companies all under one roof. I guess we took the business model of Yell.com and applied it to a specific industry.

From that date the website was designed and built and the marketing plans began. It took us over two years to get the site to a stage where it was working properly, full of relevant information and was actually coming up on the search engines for relevant search terms. Although it took us a while to get the site looking and working right we had also carried out alot of market research in order to get the sales and marketing approach right.

2007 was the first official year for the MaxxDirectory and between February and October the site attracted over sixty-five companies who all subscribed to premium listings. Many of the companies on the directory have seen an increase in the number of visitors to their website, some have even had jobs totalling up to the value of £10,000.

2008 saw the merge of Maxxd Marketing with our sister company; Dijitul Media which was initially established to help East Midlands based companies with their online marketing is now our main company and manages the Maxxd network of sites. Below are a few services that we now offer:
