Its extensive range of PX500 base plates and filters ensure a simple and effective fitment for many of the most popular Suzuki and Honda engines, allowing them to run a competition-spec Pipercross filter for optimum airflow.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The PX500 system is based around a smart aluminium baseplate, which is tailored for each application. Versions for the Honda Fireblade and Blackbird engines are available, as well as the Suzuki Hyabusa and both 1000 and 600 GSXR powerplants. Blank plates are also available for tuners needing to create a bespoke application.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With the launch of the DS3, Citroen has returned to sparkling hot-hatch form once again. As the far more mature incarnation of the popular Saxo for today’s performance market, it comes as little surprise to see scene stalwarts Forge creating a range of bespoke upgrades for the latest Gallic Go-kart.</p>
<p>The first of many enhancements to roll out of Forge’s Gloucestershire factory is this superbly engineered induction kit for the 1.6 Turbo variant. Featuring a custom-wound silicone induction hose and a high quality, non-oiled cotton gauze cone filter, the kit offers a proven gain over the restrictive factory box and filter. Thanks to the filter itself having a much higher flow rate than the restrictive OEM paper element, coupled with the carefully sculpted and smoothed airways of the hose, dyno gains of 6 bhp over the stock airbox have been recorded on an independent dyno. Naturally, tuned or remapped vehicles can expect to see higher gains still.</p>

Gloucestershire based Forge Motorsport has created a beautifully engineered uprated wastegate actuator to be able to cope with higher boost levels on tuned and hard-driven examples.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Each unit is entirely hand-fabricated by Forge’s time-served craftsmen here in the UK, and uses motorsport-quality materials and fabrication methods to create a unit which is both hugely effective and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. Usually, with this engine configuration, if the factory actuator fails, you need to purchase the entire combined turbo and actuator assembly. So, not only does the Forge part vastly outperform the original.. it’s also somewhat easier on the wallet!</p>

The latest generation of the perennial super-coupe differs greatly from the launch-spec models, meaning that Forge have had to return to the drawing board to create a new range of tuning products. This intake however, fits every model released so far.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">When tuning the GTR, one of the limiting factors to getting above 600 bhp is the diameter of the stock induction pipework. Being fairly restrictive, it doesn’t allow higher power. To counter this, the Forge Nissan R35 GTR intake a uses much larger (80mm) custom aluminium tract for massively improved flow and higher horsepower potential.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">These are then topped off by a pair of custom Pipercross filters, to allow unrestricted airflow from the front of the car. The kit works exceptionally well. So well in fact, that it can only be fitted to a car running aftermarket engine management, such as EcuTek, or Cobb. The standard ECU simply gets confused when seeing such high flow rates past the MAF. However, with the right engine management in place and an appropriate exhaust system to balance it out, this kit opens up the R35’s potential to achieve much higher power and torque figures.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Everything needed to fit is included, so all nuts, bolts, washers, hoses and brackets are there – as well as a set of reassuringly comprehensive instructions. The kit is priced at £399.00 + VAT.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">The Subaru Pro-R race team managed to rack up their best ever UK Time Attack result at a packed Brands Hatch, during the most recent round of the competition.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Despite the team having to burn several gallons of midnight oil to make the event, thanks to a full engine rebuild being required after ECU problems during testing, driver Jon Mathers found instant form to blitz to the top spot in Club class on day one, and second on day two of the meeting. With 16,000 Time Attack fans to cheers him on, it was the best showing yet for the Cross Roads garage prepared machine and a superb example of how the new Pro-R range of tuning components can perform under pressure.The car was sporting some exciting new enhancements for Brands, including a lightweight, bespoke Scorpion Exhausts extraction system, which managed to net the team more power, despite being under the series’ strict noise regulations as well as improved cooling and lightweight body panels by the team’s technical partners at ABW.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Saturday started with damp conditions, but the Cross Roads team quickly found the ideal set-up and a confident Mathers simply went out and posted ONE hot lap in a move that saw him go straight to the top of the leader board, a full second ahead of the opposition. A position that would remain unchallenged for the rest of the race.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">On a high, the team ran a similar set up for the Sunday race, setting fastest sector times throughout warm-up and qualifying. During the session, Mathers was flying, but suffered bad luck when a combination of traffic and a series of red flags saw him only able to post second, despite showing the fastest 1<sup>st</sup> sector time of the Club AWD class. With track temperatures spiking and the tyres dropping off, the talented wheelman had to settle for the second step on day two.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As well as taking a couple of well-earned trophies back to Cross Roads’ burgeoning trophy cabinet, Mather’s textbook drive also netted a new Pirelli lap record of 53.505 seconds.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">On accepting his accolades, Mathers was quick to thank those who got him there. ‘This one is for everyone who worked so hard for Brands,’ he beamed, ‘RCM, who stayed up until 6am on the Friday prior to the race, dynoing the car, Joe and Lee from Cross Roads, Mark at TDR and of course, Subaru UK for their assistance with parts. A massive thanks to you all!’</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The next Time Attack round will be at Cadwell Park on the 31<sup>st</sup> of July. With Mathers clearly on sparkling form – and the car seemingly bomb-proof, bank on more silverware heading back to Warwickshire soon!</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The new system, which has been designed and hand-fabricated here in the UK, utilises T304 63.5mm Aerospace grade stainless steel tubing and precision CNC mandrel bends to optimise gas-flow and improve throttle response across the rev range.</p>

The exhaust note has been carefully honed to offer a truly sporting tone, without being obtrusive in the cabin.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The centre section has an OEM style flexi-joint to allow for engine movement, with the system running straight through, before terminating in two carefully designed boxes, terminating in the tasteful and subtly finished 90mm Imola trims to accentuate the Mini’s shapely rear. Great care has been taken by Scorpion’s engineers to ensure that the system will also fit cars fitted with a Cooper Works body kit.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Scorpion Exhausts, the Derbyshire-based exhaust manufacturer has launched a superb looking exhaust system for the diminutive Fiat 500 Abarth that offers genuine performance gains and a sublime soundtrack.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The new system, which has been designed and hand-fabricated here in the UK, utilises T304 63mm Aerospace grade stainless steel tubing and precision CNC mandrel bends to optimise gas-flow and improve throttle response across the rev range.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The open-neck downpipe houses a free-flowing 200 cell sports catalyst, providing the perfect balance between full race/road legality and ultimate performance. Sitting so close to the engine, the catalyst also warms up very quickly, ensuring that the car’s emissions stay very close to factory parameters, despite a notable power increase. The exhaust note has been carefully honed to offer a truly sporting tone, without being obtrusive in the cabin.</p>

A half system is also available, from the downpipe back,  for just £549 inc VAT. Makes you wonder whether Abarth put that scorpion badge on there for a reason, doesn&#8217;t it?</p>

The Northamptonshire firm has created a bespoke induction set-up that affixes directly to the factory intakes, but more than doubles the surface area available for filtration. The foam used draws heavily on Pipercross’ BTCC experience, as the firm supplies almost every leading team on the grid for the current season.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Performance filtration specialist Pipercross has provided the perfect breathing solution for the perennial tuner’s favourite; the Mk 6 Golf Gti. The precision-fabricated intake system has been designed to eliminate all of the compromises inherent within the factory airbox, hugely improving airflow, enhancing both power and drivability. Using induction technology gleaned from the firm’s involvement with the AmD BTCC car, the result is an upgrade that offers racecar levels of technology and finish at a price that is well within the reach of the average enthusiast.</p>
<p>The gains begin with a large cylindrical, triple layer filter. Not only does this boast considerably more surface area than the OEM part, but also, thanks to Pipercross’ unique foam construction, can filter down to a much finer rate than the factory paper unit.. all this, despite flowing at a far greater rate and being far less susceptible to dust and dirt loading.</p>

<p>A smart aluminium shield keeps the filter well away from underbonnet heat and channels ice cold air from the front of the car directly into the filter body, helping to further improve the efficiency of the system.</p>
<p>A hand-wrapped bespoke SamcoSport hose has been designed to provide a perfectly smooth airflow path from the filter neck into the induction system. This drops from 88.5mm to 80mm diameter to fit as per factory, and utilises the factory MAF housing to ensure that the ECU receives all salient data. The whole kit takes around an hour to fit.</p>
<p>Although the system has been designed to fit directly onto the factory corrugated intake hose, drivers looking to really get the most from the induction set-up can also opt for the Stage 2 pipe which goes directly back to the turbo. The new pipe is made of lightweight mandrel bent aluminium, painted with a black crackle finish to give it a decidedly OEM appearance. Unlike other upgraded carbon intake pipes it has a smooth internal profile which improves the passage of air, increasing the flow rate. Being fully interchangeable, the pipe can be fitted to the standard OE airbox or be used as part of a kit.</p>
<p>Pipercross has conducted extensive flow-testing on both components to evaluate potential gains. The stage 2 pipe flows a proven 27% increase over the OEM part, whilst the entire system averaged an astonishing 45% airflow improvement over the original, highlighting just how restrictive it is.</p>
<p>The Stage 2 pipe retails at a price of just £80 + VAT, making it one of the cheapest ways to increase your GTi’s performance. The entire kit as shown in the picture retails at £299 + VAT.</p>
