Respected tuners Roger Clark Motorsport look set to open the doors to their purpose-built premises in the summer of 2010.

The 10,000 square foot unit has been stripped to a bare shell, before RCM commissioned a radical re-fit that promises to offer new levels of service and hospitality in an ambience that should make main-dealer regulars feel right at home.

In addition to a bespoke 1200 bhp Dyno Dynamics cell, engine ‘clean’ room, competition prep bays and 2 – lift workshop on the ground floor, customers can also expect a luxurious waiting and reception area, complete with the all the usual multi-media trappings and free Wi-Fi.

As well as additional offices for the RCM team, the new facility offers over 3,000 square feet of mezzanine parts storage to allow RCM to reinforce their position as the ‘first call’ parts supplier for the global Subaru aftermarket. Outside, there is a secure parking area to house up to 20 cars in camera monitored safety.

On announcing the move to bigger and better things, Sales Director Olly Clark said, ‘It’s a very exciting time for RCM and we’re delighted to be expanding into the new building. Although we’re obviously very attached to our existing premises we’ve really outgrown them now, so it seems only logical to improve facilities for customers and staff. Increasingly, we’re seeing customers drift across with newer and newer cars, so we wanted to give them the kind of facilities that they’re used to at a franchised dealer, like courtesy cars and service collection, but combined with the more technical nature of a specialist. Best of all, we’re still the same, tightly focussed family business that provides a warm welcome and good old fashioned advice and customer service. That part will never change, no matter which building we’re in!’

For more details on the team or the magic they can perform on any Subaru, please visit www.rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk or call them on 01455 828610.

Don’t Be A Dipstick.. Check Your Oil With Richbrook

Richbrook’s somewhat self-explanatory Dipstick Wiper might just solve a perennial automotive problem. Every single year, literally millions of engines fail due to the wholly avoidable problem of lack of oil. We all know that we should check it, but faffing around looking for a rag to wipe the dipstick is often discouragement enough for us to wait until the oil light comes on to tell us that something’s wrong.

Keeping an oily rag in the car isn’t too pleasant either. Under the bonnet it might get sucked into the air intake or fan, or worse still get hot and catch fire. The best you can hope for is that it gets full of water and slowly rusts through the inner wing..

The Dipstick Wiper, as well as being the source of numerous double-entendres and ‘Only Fools and Horses’ gags around the Richbrook offices, offers a neatly self contained solution to this simple, but vitally important problem.

Simply turn the top to reveal an absorbent foam aperture. Slide the oily dipstick through to fully clean it and then take a clear and accurate reading from the sump. Simple as that. Turn the top to close and any oily residue is kept safely inside, meaning that it can reside anywhere, from your trouser pocket – to your glovebox or toolkit. True ergonomiscists can even use the enclosed 3M adhesive pad to affix the ‘Rodney’ (as he’s known) to a suitable place in the engine bay, meaning that a handy, clean wipe – and possibly a hilarious pun – is always within easy reach.

At £2.95 including VAT, postage and packing from www.richbrook.co.uk, it’s the cheapest way to ensure that your engine is in tip-top order. You’d be a plonker not to, Rodney!

For more information on the Richbrook range of high quality car accessories, please visit www.richbrook.co.uk or call the team on 01328 862387.

You are probably sick to death of hearing about Facebook. Facebook this, Facebook that. It’s always being referred to on the news and mentioned on the Radio. Despite it annoying the hell out of alot of people it is an area that many companies have yet to venture into.

We have been testing Facebook for over two years now and have set-up various groups and fan pages. One of which was for the Fast and Furious film which was released in 2009. Being fans of the films ourselves we had a personal interest in setting up the page and spent a few days carefully planning and preparing content etc.

Upon launch of the Fast and Furious Fan page we initially sent an email to over 1000 individuals who then shared with their friends and within a few hours the message spread around Facebook like a virus. Within a few weeks the fan page was booming and sending hundreds of visitors a day to a website that we had also built for the film.

It now has over 94,000 fans all who we can now send out marketing information to all by the click of a button. All thanks to Facebook….. Did I mention that it cost us NOTHING!!!!

To find out more about Facebook pages and the effects it could have on your business please get in touch.
