Twitter allows the user to post a maximum of 140 characters which then sends an update to anyone following that person. Twitter is great for finding out what people are talking about and seeking potential new customers.

For example, lets say you sell car valeting products, you could search for people tweeting “I really need to clean the car this weekend” or “going to give the car a good detailing this weekend”. You instantly know that the person who tweeted that likes keeping their car clean and you could simply reply to their tweet with something like “why not give our new eco-friendly car polish a try”.
